CEDEJ receives Sojoud Algarrai and her movie “Mango”

On Wednesday October 12, CEDEJ will welcome filmmaker Sojoud Algarrai who will be screening her movie “Mango“.
Sojoud is also a visual communications professional working to empower women and promote democracy. 

The film is about a group of women in South Kordofan who managed to break away with traditional gender roles and sell mangoes. In that area of the country it’s cash crop and those are under men control. With help of Care International,  they were trained on planting and harvesting the mango trees to take care of the orchards and export the fruit. They were also tough how to start village saving loan fun to be able to sustain their Economic growth.

The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Hind Mahmud, PhD Candidate in development studies at the Ahfad University for Women.

The screening and discussion will take place on the CEDEJ premises at 5 pm.
