Workshop Archives at CEDEJ Khartoum

Abstract:

This two-day workshop at CEDEJ Khartoum will address issues of cultural heritage focusing on archives, archiving and memory. It will also talk about archival theory, colonialism, and erasure.

Biography of the Speaker:

Leila Musson works as a collection specialist and outreach archivist at the International Institute of Social History (IISH) in Amsterdam. In her work she is interested in critical archival theories and in applying feminist methodologies and concepts into archiving. She has an MA in Gender Studies.

Laurie Merigeaud is a PhD candidate in history at Aix-Marseille Universite focusing her research on the social history on Sudanese female teachers in Sudan during the colonial period and after the independence (1920-1970). She has an MA in Political Science.
