Khartoum at War. Urban Visuals for an Emotional and Political Cityscape.

Khartoum at War. Urban Visuals for an Emotional and Political Cityscape.

CEDEJ Khartoum is delighted to present the final outcome of a collective research project carried out by Luisa Arango, Duaa Abuswar, Wafa Adam, Rania Elhassan, and Zainab Gaafar.

Entitled “Khartoum at War. Urban Visuals for an Emotional and Political Cityscape.”, this work examines how visual representations of a city at war—circulating across different networks—shape the emotional and political connections that those who fled Khartoum continue to maintain with the city.

This project was funded by CEDEJ Khartoum, L’Institut Français (Paris), and The SAGE Laboratory, University of Strasbourg.
